Home My WebLink About12/19/2001 - STAFF REPORTS (24) DATE: December 19, 2001 TO: City Council FROM: Deputy Director of Aviation -Administration via Interim Director of Aviation AIRPORT GRANT AMENDMENTS - (ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION) RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to eight (8) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grants. SUMMARY: The FAA is mandating newly established electronic submission for grant draw downs against a Letter of Credit that will allow for airport grant reimbursement time to be reduced from two (2) weeks to two (2) days. BACKGROUND: Currently, airport staff submits written documentation to the FAA that begins a process for reimbursement to be made of funds expended by the airport for various AIP grant projects. This process does not,allow for AlP reimbursements to the airport to be made until FAA reviews airport staff documentation. This new electronic submission allows the FAA to reimburse the airport prior to written documentation being reviewed. There are eight (8) grants currently held at the airport which require this amendment.
