AIRPORT FIRE STATION EXPANSION - ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES
-AMENDMENT#1
RECOMMENDATION:
That City Council approve Amendment #1 to Agreement No. 4235 with John R
Trueblood for architectural services related to the expansion of the Airport fire station
in an amount not-to-exceed $10,000, for a revised total contract amount of$76,000.
SUMMARY:
John R Trueblood is providing architectural services for the City of Palm Springs,
Department of Aviation (AIRPORT). Their work is specifically related to the expansion
of the Airport fire station, which is being funded by the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA).
BACKGROUND:
John R Trueblood is conducting professional architectural services related to the
expansion of fire station #2. The project has been under construction for the past 5
months. The amount of time spent by Mr Trueblood on this project has been greater
than anticipated.
This amendment does not change the scope of services, it merely reflects the change
in the overall compensation by allocating an additional $10,000.
Some of the work associated with this change order is due to delays in the building
construction, which staff will negotiate with the building contractor for reimbursement.
A Minute Order is attached for City Council consideration. Funds are available in
Account No 415-60-6600-56045, AIP 32 ARFF Building.,

AMENDMENT NO. 1
AGREEMENT NO. 4235, ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES
AIRPORT FIRE STATION EXPANSION
THIS FIRST AMENDMENT to Agreement No 4235 for Contract Services, (herein
"Agreement") made and entered into on the day of 2001,
by and between the CITY OF PALM SPRINGS (herein "City') and John R Trueblood and
Christopher S Mills (herein "Contractor'), (The term Contractor includes professionals
performing in a consulting capacity.), is hereby effective February 20, 2002, as follows:
The "Contractor" has been retained to perform architectural services related to the
expansion of the airport fire station for the City of Palm Springs, Department of Aviation
(AIRPORT), which operates the Palm Springs International Airport.
2.1 Contract Sum
Original Maximum Contract Amount: $66,000
Revised Maximum Contract Amount: $76,000

Except as specifically worded herein, all terms and conditions of the Agreement shall
remain in full force and effect and performance of services under the Agreement shall be
governed by the provisions of the Agreement.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that this Minute Order approving

$10,000, for a revised total contract amount of$76,000, was
adopted by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs,
California in a meeting thereof held on the 20`h day of
February, 2002.
