HomeMy WebLinkAbout7/17/2002 - STAFF REPORTS (12) DATE: July, 17, 2002
TO: City Council
FROM: Arts Administrator via Director of Community and Economic Development
AGREEMENT: PHILL EVANS, DOG PARK FENCE MODIFICATIONS
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the agreement between the City and Phil] Evans in the
amount of $4,750 for relocation of part of the fencing at the small dog area and for
installation of an additional 50 feet of fencing to extend the small dog area across the
entire west end of the park.
BACKGROUND:
The Dog Park has been a tremendously successful venture through the cooperative
efforts of many groups. The City has received several requests from patrons of the
park to extend the small dog area. The Arts Commission has reviewed this matter
and agreed that the small dog area would be greatly improved if it were enlarged to
encompass the entire west end of the park, rather than just half of it. The artist is
available to make the changes and will do so at the very reasonable cost of$4,750.
Funding will come from the Public Art Fund, account #150-4408-50015, No Genera]
Fund money will be used for this project.
City staff has reviewed the proposed improvements and believes that they are
consistent with the City's ongoing efforts toward maintaining an outstanding quality
of life and providing amenities and services that meet the needs of all of its citizens.
It is anticipated that the improvements to the park will be completed prior to
overseeding in October, 2002.
