HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/2/2002 - STAFF REPORTS (13) DATE: October 2, 2002 TO: City Council FROM: City Clerk BIENNIAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE REPORTS -AMENDMENTS RECOMMENDATION: That the Council receive for filing biennial reports required by the Government Code, concerning status of department/commission conflict of interest codes; and approve amended codes for specified departments. BACKGROUND: The Government Code requires local agencies (departments/boards & commissions) to submit a biennial report to their code reviewing body by October 1, to identify changes in its code, or a statement that no changes are needed. Typically, as a result of operational and budget changes, departments are required to change their designated positions and reporting categories. The departments have completed their changes, and a copy of each amended code for the following departments is on file with the City Clerk: Aviation, Building & Safety, Combined Administrative, Community & Economic Development, Engineering, Planning & Zoning, Police, and Procurement. Reports, indicating no changes, have been filed by the following: Finance, Fire, Facilities and Library; and all boards and commissions.
