Albert Hoffman hereinafter referred to as "Contractor" previously entered into an Agreement (No. 3 in Redevelopment Agency' s records) for the rendering by Contractor of program coordinator services and other professional services as required, a copy of which is attached hereto as an exhibit, dated October 1, 1972, and to be effective from October 1972, through April 1, 1973, inclusive; and WHEREAS, on April 11, 1973 was amended by Supplemental Agreement No. 1, by CRA Resolution No. 009 extending Agreement No. 3 from April 1, 1973 to June 30, 1973 inclusive, copies attached, and WHEREAS on June 27, 1973, was amended by Supplemental Agreement No. 2, by CRA Resolution No. 018 extending Agreement No. 3 from July 1, 1973 to September 30, 1973 inclusive, copies attached, and WHEREAS Redevelopment Agency and Contractor mutually desire to amend said Agreement by modifying Paragraph VII contained therein; NOW THEREFORE, the parties hereto mutually agree as follows : Paragraph VII of Agreement No. 3 as foresaid is amended to read as follows; "VII. This agreement shall be in effect until July 1, 1974, and may be terminated by either party upon the givLng of a thirty (30) day notice in writing." Albert Hoffman - Program Co- ordinator, dwntwn impr prog AGREEMENT #3 (Original 9-25-72) AGREEMENTRes #005, 9-25-72 No. 3 THIS AGREEMENT, entered into this 1st day of October, 1972, between the COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF IHE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, hereinafter referred to as "Redevelopment Agency" , and D. ALBERT HOFFMAN, hereinafter referred to as "Contractor": WITNESSETH: WHEREAS the City Council has designated themselves as a Redevelopment Agency and desires to initiate a Redevelopment Program for the upgrading of the downtown area; and WHEREAS the Director of Community Development has requested approval of a Redevelopment Budget for the downtown area which includes a position of Program Coordinator; and WHEREAS the Contractor has agreed to act as Program Coordinator of the Redevelopment Agency, under the direction of the Director of Community Development, to assist in the preparation of a Downtown Redevelopment Plan in accordance with applicable City and State laws . i NOW THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED by the parties hereto as follows: 6 I. Contractor shall be known as the Program Coordinator in the status of an independent contractor in lieu of a permanent position provided in the Department of Community Development, and not including any rights accorded to classified positions in said Department unless otherwise stated herein, s rt II. Contractor' s time shall be chargeable to the Community Redevelopment 4 Administrative Fund. y III . Commencing September 25, 1972, Contractor's payment for services shall be in accordance with the established rate of pay for the position of Program Coordinator as set forth in the City of Palm Springs Classification and Compensation Plan as it may be changed from time to time. The rate for said services commencing September 25, 1972, small be fixed at the P, step for said position. Separate from and in addition, to said payment for services, contractor shall continue to receive fifty dollars ($50.00) each month for travel expense so long as this contract remains in effect, t IV. In addition to Paragraph III above, compensation shall include the following: a. Sick time will be deducted from pay at the hourly rate of the basic annual salary divided by 2 ,080 hours. b. The work week will be a normal forty (40) hour week. V . In addition to providing professional services in connection with the Downtown Redevelopment Program, Contractor shall do such other work as deemed necessary by the Director of Community Development, r t 4 (L ; Agreement No. Page 2 VI. The Redevelopment Agency shall provide Contractor with office space, secretarial Services, and Give necessary access to the files. VII .
