Dear Mr. Terell
Reference Request to Remove Telephone
Poles and Cable E/O Palm
Canyon Drive S/O Arenas
Work Order Number 523-41353R
General Telephone Company of California, (hereafter called General) has
completed the engineering design you requested for the undergrounding cost
for our facilities. The flat sum billable cost for the requested work
is $25,155.55. However, if you provide the underground supporting structures
(trench and conduit) and transfer the ownership to General Telephone Company,
the relocation cost will be $6,698.00.
This sum does not include cost for trenches and installation work related
to underground service extensions to commercial buildings being provided and
performed by you at Palm Springs City expense.
General is prepared to proceed with the requested work under the following
terms and conditions that shall apply.
1. Customers shall pay in advance to General the sum of
$6,298.00, which is equal to the flat sum of the work
$6,698.00, less the initial payment of $400.00 that was
paid on December 7, 1982.
2. Customers agree that before General is required to remove
the poles and any associated aerial facilities attached
thereto, customers shall construct underground service
connection facilities on their properties at their expense
to replace the aerial service connections that presently
provide telephone service and complete the installation
of such underground service connections prior to the
completion of rear property line trench work.

3. Customers agree that said underground service connection
facilities and trenches shall be installed according to
General's specifications as presented on attached drawings
A, B, and C.
4. General will attempt to complete the work for which it
is responsible and to be performed under this agreement
after receipt of a fully executed copy of this agreement
letter and within 30 days after receipt of notification
that acceptable customer provided underground facilities
and trenches have been provided and are ready to accept
facilities to be provided by General. However, no damages
or other liability shall accrue against General in favor
of customers if the work is not completed within said
period due to General's action or the action of other
utilities, agencies or other companies involved in this
relocation project.
5. The undersigned understands that this agreement shall not
be binding on General or individual customers unless and
until all customers listed below have given their approval
of these terms and conditions by affixing their signatures
on the lines indicated.
Please indicate your acceptance of the foregoing terms and conditions by
signing the enclosed copy of this letter where indicated (below) and returning
the fully executed copy to me in the self addressed, stamped envelope provided.
Your check in the amount indicated under Number 1 above may be included with
the returned signed copy of this letter or payment may be made at our
business office.
