HomeMy WebLinkAbout00250C - MCMILLION GROUP PLAZA THEATER PA1B7 • • McMillion Group PA1B7 Plaza Theater Fundraising AGREEMENT #250 PROPOSAL TO THE CITY OF PALM SPR R714, 7-25-90 BY -THE McMILLION GROUP Liz McMillion of the McMillion Group will organize and manage for The Redevelopment Agency of The City of Palm Springs (herewith to be known as CLIENT) a campaign to fund the conversion of the Plaza Theatre to a multi-use Performing Arts Center. McMILLION GROUP PROPOSES TO: Provide the services of the McMillion Group principals and staff who will give experienced professional guidence in the planning, promotion, and execution of the fundraising campaign. Recruit campaign committee members and major donors and solicit campaign contributions and sales. Establish an interest bearing Trust Account with CLIENT, if desired by CLIENT, which will require CLIENT'S signature on any expenditure. Develop a campaign budget for the CLIENT'S approval, which will include cost of all anticipated printing, postage, travel, and costs of a international program book. Develop and produce a general plan of the committee organization; time schedule; written drafts of letters, possible fundraising methods and events. Provide secretarial and clerical support for the campaign including word processing. Using its own computers, develop and maintain a data base to include donor prospect lists, word processing files, status sheets reflecting daily or weekly dollar production. Solicit advertising for program book, design and layout artwork and copy. Work with typesetter and printer to assure a finished product worthy of the CLIENT and honoree. During the campaign, immediately draft for approval "thank you" letters to all those as they participate. Produce these letters for mailing no later than five days following receipt of donation. 1 0 THE CLIENT SHALL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING: Provide assistance if and as needed in the recruitment of the campaign leadership and committee. Provide a contact person who will have authority to act on behalf of CLIENT with respect to planning, budget approvals, arrangements and CLIENT signature for expenditures. Authorize payment of expenses deemed by the CLIENT and McMillion Group to be necessary. SOUVENIR BOOK (PROGRAM BOOK) A souvenir program book containing ads, etc. will be made by The McMillion Group which will solicit advertsing, layout copy and work with graphics and printing vendors in producing a program book subject to CLIENT'S approval. This book will be distributed the night of the Center's dedication. IN CONSIDERATION OF THE SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED BY THE McMILLION GROUP, THE CLIENT AGREES TO PAY THE FOLLOWING CHARGES AND FEE FOR SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CAMPAIGN AND SOUVENIR BOOK. Fifteen percent (150) of gross revenue raised through McMillion Group solicitation or by campaign leadership recruited through the efforts of The McMillion Group. CLIENT has the limited right to solicit funds through the efforts of its employees and the volunteer leadership it recruits, which shall not be subject to the fifteen percent (150) commission on gross revenues raised by The McMillion Group. These efforts shall be restricted to funds raised locally throughout the Palm Sprints area extending through the entire Coachella Valley. There will be, however, no additional contractural agreement made with any other professional fundraising group without the knowledge and approval of McMillion Group while this contract is in effect. CLIENT shall advance $5,000 of this fee within ten days following the execution of this agreement. At the request of CLIENT, a 30-day cancellation notice to Group will be accepted by Group as notification to discontinue its efforts in regard to this Agreement. At the request of Group, a 30-day cancellation notice to CLIENT will be accepted by CLIENT as notification of Group's discontinuation of efforts in regard to this Agreement. A termination of his Agreement prior to its expiration shall in no way waive or reduce the obligation of CLIENT to pay Group commissions due on revenues received pursuant to, or in any way, a result of solicitation made by Group. Upon request of CLIENT at anytime and at the conclusion of the dinner campaign, The McMillion Group will account to the CLIENT for the receipt and expenditure of all funds. The McMillion Group shall have the right to use its experience in the serving of CLIENT and samples of printed items created for the campaign in the general promotion of McMillion Group business. The foregoing provisions constitute the entire agreement between the parties and any modification or revision of this agreement will be in writing and shall be valid only when signed by the duly authorized representatives of both parties.
