HomeMy WebLinkAbout5/21/2003 - STAFF REPORTS (4) DATE: May 21, 2003 TO: City Council FROM: Director of Public Works/City Engineer AMENDMENT NO- 1 TO THE CVAG GRANT REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT ALLOCATING AN ADDITIONAL$28,300 FOR INDIAN CANYON DRIVE ROADWAYAND RAILROAD BRIDGE WIDENING PROJECTS AT WHITEWATER WASH, RECOMMENDATION. It is recommended that City Council approve Amendment No. 1 to the grant reimbursement agreementwith the Coachella Valley Association of Governments(CVAG), in the amount of$28,300. The total Regional Measure A amount is now revised to $1,575,175, for the Indian Canyon Drive Roadway and Railroad Bridge Widening projects at the north side of the Whitewater River Wash, City Project No. 2001-11. SUMMARY: Approval of this Amendment increases the Total Authorized Regional Measure A amount by $28,300 to$1,575,175forthe Indian Canyon Drive Roadway and Railroad Bridge Widening Project. BACKGROUND: On September 5, 2001 City Council approved a grant Reimbursement Agreement with CVAG thereby providing all of the match funding forthe referenced Indian Canyon widening projects. On April 28,2003 the CVAG Executive Committee approved an increase of $28,300 in the Authorized Regional Measure A funding for this project due to additional Engineering work required in the Environmental approval phase of this project. The cast estimates forthe Indian Canyon Drive Bridge and Roadwaywidening projects now total $3,122,050 and the federal grants and CVAG are covering all costs. All other provisions are considered in force. This amendment number one shall authorize additional design engineering funds in the amount not to exceed$28,300_ Agency is requesting additional funds for the Design Consultant due to a change in ilne scope of work and the revisions required by Caltrans and FIIWA.
