HomeMy WebLinkAbout5/21/2003 - STAFF REPORTS (9) DATE: May 21, 2003 TO: City Council FROM: Director of Public Works/City Engineer AMENDMENT NO.4 TO CVAG/CITY REIMBURSEMENTAGREEMENT,ALLOCATING AN ADDITIONAL $50,000 FOR THE INDIAN AVENUE/1-10 INTERCHANGE RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council approve Amendment No.4 to CVAG/City Agreement No. A4317 with the Coachella Valley Association of governments (CVAG), allocating an additional $50,000 in Regional Measure A funds and amending total project costs to $16,352,843 for the Indian Avenue/Interstate 10 Interchange, City Project No. 2000-14. SUMMARY. Approval of this Amendment increases the Total Authorized Regional Measure A amount by $50,000 to $16,352,843 for Design Engineering, Environmental and Construction of the Indian Avenue/1-10 Interchange BACKGROUND: On December6,2000 City Council approved the initial; master reimbursement agreement with CVAG forthe Indian/1-101nterchange and CVAG designated Palm Springs as the lead agency for the project. On November 14, 2001 City Council approved Amendment No. 1 to CVAG Master Agreement No.A4317, allocating$9,000 towards City preliminary administrative costs for the project. On May 1,2002 City Council approved Amendment No.2 to CVAG Agreement No.A4317, allocating$15,300,000 in Federal STIP(State Transportation Improvement Plan)grantfunds towards the construction phase of the Indian/1-10 Interchange Project. On January 2, 2003 City Council approved Amendment No. 3 to CVAG Agreement No A 4317 allocating $50,000 for Project Administration costs for the project. Amendment No. 4 for $50,000 provides funds for additional design and environmental services required by Caltrans and FHWA. An off-setting budget adjustment will increase the Indian/1-10 project Account#134-4498- 50185 by$50,000 to coverthe Amendment No.4 increase at no costfrom the City general fund. 6 APPROVED APPROVE c �� DAVID J. All other provisions are considered in force. This amendment number four shall authorize additional design engineering funds in the amount not to exceed$50,000. The Lead Agency is requesting additional funds for the Design Consultant due to a change in the scope of work and the revisions required by Caltrans and PHWA related to the project alternatives.
