Ch. 977 DIVISION 23.5. COACHELLA VALLEY MOUNTAINS CONSERVANCY CHAPTER 1. ESTABLISHMENT AND PURPOSES KS . The Legislature hereby finds and declares that the Santa Rosa Mountains, the San Jacinto Mountains, and the Indio Hills, all of which surround the Coachella Valley in Riverside County, constitute unique and important open-space, environmental, anthropological,cultural,scientific,educational,recreational,scenic, and wildlife resources that should be held in trust for the enjoyment of, and appreciation by, present and future generations. 33501. The Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy is hereby created to acquire and hold, in perpetual open space, mountamoub lands surrounding the Coachella Valley and to provide for the public's enjoyment of, and the enhancement of their recreationul and educational experiences on, those lands in a manner consistent with the protection of these lands and the resource values specified in Section 33500. 33502.
