HomeMy WebLinkAbout1/28/2004 - STAFF REPORTS (2) L i 1 3 21-1 January 28, 2004 To The City Of Palm Springs I have had the pleasure of working with the staff at the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism since I bought the Ramada Resort and Conference Center in 2002. 1 actually met with them prior to buying the hotel and they gave me a great insight on Palm Springs, what a great destination it is and some of the challenges that would lie ahead. Barbara Lyons, my Director of Sales, has worked very closely with Linda Fort, Howard Jacobs and Jeff Hocker attending numerous trade shows, hosting travel writers and advertising opportunities. Barbara has always come back to me with nothing but positive comments on the professional displayed by the tourism staff and more importantly, the business that was booked at the Ramada with their assistance. I know the city is facing some difficult financial times ahead, however additional money needs to be spent on tourism as this not only affects the hotels in Palm Springs but also the attractions, restaurants and retail stores who rely so heavily on our visitors. We would appreciate your supporting their sales and marketing efforts as they do generate T.O.T. and sales tax for the City of Palm Springs. Sin rel ??
