CITY COUNCIL STAFF REPORT DATE: November 7, 2007 CONSENT SUBJECT: AIRPORT HOLD-ROOM LANDSCAPE FINAL CHANGE ORDER FROM: David H. Ready, City Manager BY: Department of Aviation SUMMARY The proposed action is to approve the final change order for the landscape/hardscape portion of the new hold-roam project at the airport_ RECOMMENDATION: Approve Change Order No. 2 with Marina Landscape, Inc. for additional Landscape/Hardscape work on the Airport Hold-room Project, City Project 06-22, Agreement No. A5433, for an increase of S77,632.69. STAFF ANALYSIS: Marina Landscape was awarded contract to complete the landscape work on the new hold-room project and then the concrete flatwork and safety lighting was added to their contract as Change Order No. 1. The project is now complete and staff is working to closeout the project with Marina. During the project several sign and lighting foundations were added; landscape material had to be relocated to avoid blocking cameras and hitting existing utilities; several planting beds had a thin layer of unknown asphalt that had to be removed; calking was added to the concrete expansion joints to provide a better finish; and the contractor was authorized to work several weekends on overtime to accelerate the project so as to meet the Labor Day schedule deadline. Change Order No. 2 comes to a total of $77,632.69. A complete run-down of all the changes are shown on Change Order No. 2, attached. FISCAL IMPACT.- The funding for Change Order No. 2 is proposed to come from the $2.5 million appropriated by City Council to finish the Hold-room project; account 415-6500-56082.
