CONTINUING APPROPRIATIONS
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Palm
Springs authorize the continuation of appropriations from the fiscal year 2003-04 budget
for projects not completed.
BACKGROUND:
Each year during the budget process, the Staff is faced with the difficult problem of trying
to determine in advance which projects will be completed by fiscal year-end and which
might have to be rebudgeted in the next fiscal year.
In order to simplify this process, the policy of the Community Redevelopment Agency
has been to authorize the carrying forward of certain appropriations for projects
budgeted and started but not completed from one fiscal year into the next fiscal year.
The requests from the agency have been reviewed, and the amounts verified, by the
Finance Department.
The current amount recommended to be continued and the detail is included on the
attached resolution. This amount will be revised as expenditures and year-end closing
adjustments are posted.
Budget estimates for fiscal year 2004-05 have taken the requested continuing
appropriations into account, and projected fund balances will not be affected by approval
of the resolution. f
