BIENNIAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE REPORTS -AMENDMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Council receive for filing biennial reports required by the Government
Code, concerning status of department/commission conflict of interest codes; and
approve amended codes for specified departments.
BACKGROUND:
The Government Code requires local agencies (departments/boards &
commissions) to submit a biennial report to their code reviewing body by October
1, to identify changes in its code, or a statement that no changes are needed.
Typically, as a result of operational and budget changes, departments are required
to change their designated positions and reporting categories. The departments
have completed their changes, and a copy of each amended code for the following
departments are on file with the City Clerk: Combined Administrative; Finance;
Parks & Recreation; Planning Services; Strategic Planning; Procurement &
Contracting; Public Works & Engineering; and the Architectural Advisory
Committee. Reports, indicating no changes, have been filed by the following:
Airport; Building & Safety; Community & Economic Development; Fire, Library and
the Police Departments; and all boards and commissions.
Hearings have been concluded by the departments, and the amended codes are
recommended for approval by the Council.
