SUBJECT: PROPOSED ORDINANCE INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS
ON THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION FROM SEVEN
(7) TO ELEVEN (11) MEMBERS.

SUMMARY
The City Council will consider the introduction of an ordinance that would increase the
number of members on the Resource Conservation Commission to eleven members.
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Waive the reading of the ordinance text in its entirety and read by title only.
2. Introduce on first reading Ordinance No. , "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2.28.010 OF THE
PALM SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE, INCREASING THE NUMBER OF
MEMBERS ON THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION TO
ELEVEN (11) MEMBERS."
STAFF ANALYSIS:
Mayor Pougnet requested City staff draft an ordinance that would increase the number
of members on the Resource Conservation Commission from 7 to 11 members; to
provide additional resources and expertise on the Commission.

CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2.28.010 OF THE
PALM SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE, INCREASING THE
NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE RESOURCE
CONSERVATION COMMISSION TO ELEVEN (11)
MEMBERS.
CityAttorney's Summary
Currently the Resource Conservation Commission consists
of seven (7) members. This ordinance increases the
number of members on the Commission to eleven (11)
members.
THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. Section 2.28.010 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code is hereby amended
to read:
2.28.010 Creation.
There is created within the city of Palm Springs the resource conservation
commission, consisting of eleven (11) members, appointed by the city council, to serve
at the pleasure of the city council.
SECTION 2. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall certify to the ,passage and
adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same, or the summary thereof, to be
published and posted pursuant to the provisions of law and this Ordinance shall take
effect thirty (30) days after passage.
