Ready, City Manager BY: Office of the City Clerk SUMMARY: The City Council will consider adoption of Ordinance No. 1743. RECOMMENDATION: 1. Waive further reading and adopt Ordinance No. 1743, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2.28,010 OF THE PALM SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE, INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION TO ELEVEN (11) MEMBERS." STAFF ANALYSIS: At its June 18, 2008, meeting Ordinance No. 1743 was introduced by the following vote: AYES: Councilmember Hutcheson, Councilmember Mills, Councilmember Weigel, Mayor Pro Tern Foat, and Mayor Pougnet. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. This report provides for the City Council to waive further reading and adopt the ordinances. The ordinances shall be effective 30-days from adoption. am Thompson David H. L` PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 1743 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2.28.010 OF THE PALM SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE, INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION TO ELEVEN (11) MEMBERS. City Attorney's Summary Currently the Resource Conservation Commission consists of seven (7) members. This ordinance increases the number of members on the Commission to eleven (11) members. THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN: SECTION 1. Section 2.28.010 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code is hereby amended to read: 2.28.010 Creation. There is created within the city of Palm Springs the resource conservation commission, consisting of eleven (11) members, appointed by the city council, to serve at the pleasure of the city council. SECTION 2. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same, or the summary thereof, to be published and posted pursuant to the provisions of law and this Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after passage.
