Tahquitz Canyon Way Palm Springs, CA 92262 Re: False and Misleading Statements in Voter Guide Dear Gentlemen: In your rebuttal argument printed on every ballot, you stated that"Measure B is bad for open space." This statement is false and misleading. Measure B is a well-drafted, effective open space plan. It will halt the City's plan for massive development in vast areas of our mountains, canyons and alluvial fans. Measure B dramatically increases the number of acres that will be preserved as open space across our local mountains and sturoundnig areas. It is incredible that anyone could possibly suggest that Measure B is "bad" for open space. The Save Our Mountains Campaign demands that each of you correct this misleading statement by issuing, no later than 5700 p.m. on February 23, 2005, a written statement that states: "In our ballot argument we stated that Measure B is bad for open space. This statement is incorrect. In fact, Measure B is good for open space because it will preserve vast areas of open space across our local mountains that would otherwise be developed under the existing law." We further demand that this statement be mailed by priority mail to each individual who was sent the misleading ballot argument. Sincerely, Savo Our Mountains Campaign Save Our Mountains PO Box 5446, Palm Springs, CA 92263 760-327-1097 www.saveourmountains.com
