HomeMy WebLinkAbout3/16/2005 - STAFF REPORTS (19) CITY COUNCIL MARCH 16, 2005 CONSENT CALENDAR Subject: APPROVE CONTRACT AMENDMENT #1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,000 TO CITYGATE ASSOCIATES, LLC FOR ADDITIONAL GIS MAPPING FOR FIRE STATION RESPONSE TIME ANALYSIS Initiated by: Fire Department SUMMARY: Approve a contract amendment to allow for an additional $3,000 to conduct fire station response time analysis. Additional GIS consultant time is required to complete the project. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Contract Amendment#1 to Citygate Associates, LLC in the amount of$3,000 STAFF ANALYSIS: The Fire Department contracted with Citygate Associates, LLC to conduct a Standards of Response Cover Deployment Analysis in September 2004. Developer contributions paid for the study. A change order for $1,500, which was within the contract administrator's authority, was issued in February to compensate the contractor for 10 hours of unbudgeted GIS analysis that was required because data the City provided was not sufficient and needed to be recreated manually by the vendor. Another $1,500 is required to allow additional analysis for specific projects which have submitted tract maps and are requesting more detailed GIS analysis for the specific project. Because a second change order for $1,500 would exceed the contract administrator's authority (5% above the original contract amount of $41,423) the request for an amendment to the contract must be brought to City Council for approval. FISCAL IMPACT: Developers have contributed to this project and there are unspent contributions still available in account # 3520-43200. Blake G. Goetz, Fire C10j,eK David H.
