Walsh, Director of Aviation SUMMARY: Amendment No. 7 to the Engineering Services Agreement provides for Architectural services to design natural passenger weather protection in conjunction with the new regional jet commuter holdroom presently under design. i i RECOMMENDATION: Approve Minute Order No. authorizing Agreement No. A4487 with VSA AIRPORTS, Inc. j for architectural services for Phase 3 for the new holdroom/garden passenger area, in the i amount of$29,500.00, FAA AIP Project No. 3-06-0181-38, CP 2005-11. STAFF ANALYSIS: The weather protection/shading/erosion control design shall encompass the areas leading up to the new Regional Jet Commuter Holdrooms. The design shall provide for weather protection (shade) for passengers approaching the new building. The new design shall be reviewed with the new Regional Jet Commuter Holdroom by the Planning Commission prior to adoption by City Council. FISCAL IMPACT: The amendment is 95% FAA Airport Improvement Grant Program eligible under AIP 3-06-0181- 38 from account 415-6600-56063, ALTERNATIVES: The new courtyard entry concept could be eliminated and replaced with something similar to existing: 1. Narrow entry into holdroom with sidewalk and security walls but no courtyard; 2. Covered (fabric or metal roof) sidewalk with security walls to the building entry. These alternatives, although less expensive, would not conform to the design standards and/or existing architectural aestFte 'cs of the airport. �---� Richard S. Walsh David H. AMENDMENT#7 AGREEMENT NO. 4487, AIRPORT ENGINEERING SERVICES THIS SEVENTH AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT NO. 4487 FOR CONTRACT SERVICES, (herein "Amendment") is made and entered into on the day of 2005, by and between the CITY OF PALM SPRINGS (herein "City") and VSA AIRPORTS, Inc. (herein "Contractor"). (The term Contractor includes professionals performing in a consulting capacity.), is hereby effective 2005 as follows: i RECITALS I I j A. The City and Contractor entered into that certain Contract Services Agreement No. 4487 for Airport Engineering Services ("Agreement"), as duly amended from time to time. I i B. The parties wish to amend the Agreement pursuant to the terms of this Amendment to add additional services to be performed by Contractor and increase the Contract Sum to authorize payment for such additional services. I NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: Section 1: Section 2.1 of the Agreement entitled "Contract Sum" shall be amended as to the reference to the Contract Sum to include the fees added with this Amendment, as described in the revision to Exhibit "C" below (for $29,500.00), so that the revised Contract Sum shall read "Two Million Six Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($2,600,000.00)", with all other provisions of Section 2.1 remaining unmodified and in full force and effect.
