Ready, City Manager BY: Department of Parks and Recreation SUMMARY: The City Council will consider waiving Showmobile rental fees in the amount of $1,240 for the Salton Sea Centennial Celebration on Saturday, May 7, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. RECOMMENDATION: City Manager and staff recommend that the City Council not waive any fees due to the City's current budget deficit. I STAFF ANALYSIS: i Ron Spears, the volunteer Chairman of the Salton Sea Centennial Celebration, requested use of the Showmobile on Saturday, May 7, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including two hours each way to transport the facility The amount of rental fees is $1,240, based upon a $250 deposit, $550 rental fee for the first three hours, and $440 rental for an additional eight hours ($55/hour). In addition to these rental fees, there is a $628.76 estimate for staff costs, which the promoter has agreed to pay. The total rental estimate is $1,868,76. FISCAL IMPACT: ' Since the rental of the Showmobile is a revenue source for the City, the loss would be an amount of $1,240 if this waiver is approved by City Council. ott Mikesell, Director David H.
