Ready, City Manager SUMMARY ! The City Council will consider an advertising promotion plan to attract a `drive-in market' from Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The Share the Legend cost will for this promotional contract will not exceed $27,000. RECOMMENDATION: 1. Approve Minute Order , authorizing ai purchase agreement with Creative Media Solutions LLC for "Share The Legend Campaign" advertisements in an amount not to exceed $27,000 subject to the approval of the City Attorney; and 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. STAFF ANALYSIS: This proposed cooperative advertising opportunity was presented to the MainStreet I Board by Jeff Hocker, Director of Communications with Palm Springs Tourism, at their April 7 Board Meeting. His stated objective was to attract a larger "Drive In-Market" from the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties) to come to Palm Springs for VillageFest and spend the weekend at a local hotel and shop and dine in downtown Palm Springs over a three to four day stay. FISCAL IMPACT: Within this cooperative promotion, Palm Springs Tourism agreed to pay a total of $6,382 for one fourth page advertisements in the Riverside Press Enterprise and San i Bernardino Sun newspapers. i i Item No. City Council Staff Report May 25, 2005 -- Page 2 PROPOSED SHARE THE LEGEND COOPERATIVE ADVERTISING PROGRAM The MainStreet/Share the Legend portion is for a total amount of $20,250 for a campaign of 106 commercials on KFRG Radio.
