Below is a copy of what I sent the council.

Jerry Ogburn, THE GOON:
Below is a list of stores, restaurants, buildings and projects that Jerry Ogburn has been
involved in to one degree or another. From what I understand he was very involved
Some of the businesses have been here years, some are new, some are on the way and
some hope to become part of downtown. All of them are important to Palm Springs.
How many times has someone asked or told each of you privately and publically, "Is that
all you do all day?" "Your job isn't that hard. I could do it!" "Why did it take you so long
to get that job done?" or better yet, "I£you don't do it better or faster we will get rid of
you!"
In your heart you know the answer to all of those questions and you know the job is
harder and takes longer and requires more behind the scenes work than the one
questioning you will EVER understand. You also know some of them will never be
pleased and will not show appreciation. But you do your best anyway.
Please take a slow look at the list below and see what Jerry Ogburn has done. Who else
within City Hall could have done it alone or without Jerry? Of those against Jerry, who
could have made those deals work? Jerry has done a lot of good.
Jerry Ogburn THE BAIL;':
The bad is what some in this town are trying to do without knowing the ENTIRE story
and what goes on behind a deal to make it work. Then the deal has to make it through the
long rolls of Red Tape at City Hall ..no matter how "business friendly" Palm Springs
claims to be now or then.
Jerry Ogburn THE UGLY:
The ugly is what will happen to the City of Palm Springs in "the interest" of helping Palm
Springs if the people who do not see all the facts control those who do see all the facts.
Jerry Ogburn, like the City Council, was put in a job because of experience and
knowledge. Let him do his work with input, guidance AND SUPPORT.
Replacing Jerry Ogburn in mid-stream will put us in the same place as attempting to
replace all the other City staff for the last year...BEHIND THE S BALL.
