Tahquitz Way Pahn Springs, CA 92262 Dear Mr. Ready; The Desert Gay Tourism Guild(DGTG) is pleased to update you on our exciting summer promotion for 2010- Palm Springs Sunnier Splash. We are working diligently to entice more gay and lesbian visitors to come to Palm Springs during the slower summer season of June l - September 30, 2010. Details of this extensive and successful program are attached for your review. We are writing to ask your assistance. We know the City of Palm Springs has allocated significant funds to the promotion of special events, especially during the off season and shoulder season periods in our city. We feel that Palm Springs Summer Splash is exactly the type of program the City Council envisioned when dedicating these funds. We are asking for$15,000 of these funds to be allocated to the DGTG to help us promote Palm Springs Summer Splash, and to promote offseason travel to our beau- tiful City. The DGTG has 44 active business members, including 23 hotels that cater to the LGBT market. However, this promotion is geared to help all businesses in Palm Springs. Our unique approach this year with the"Splash Pass"has the potential to help hotels, restaurants, bars, retail, and all other inter- ested businesses. We do not require membership in DGTG for merchants, attractions or restaurants to participate. We are asking for this funding so we can take this program "on the road" to other markets. We already are planning events in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Long Beach. With this additional funding, we will be able to penetrate the markets of San Francisco, Phoenix, and Seattle. These are all very good poten- tial markets for summer travel. Thank, you in advance for your consideration. Sincerely, Corey White,AEiJ Media, DGTG President.
