SUBJECT: Rehabilitation of Commuter Apron

SUMMARY
Project provides additional passenger/airline capacity in concert with the development
of the new Regional Terminal expansion. The project provides aircraft apron parking for
the new and larger regional jets at the new Regional Terminal.
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Approve Minute Order No. , adopting plans and specifications for the
Rehabilitation of Commuter Apron, City Project No. CP2005-11, and the
engineer's construction cost estimate of$1,600,000.
2. Direct staff to proceed with the solicitation of bids for City Project No. CP2005-11.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
This action will allow for the solicitation of bids for new aircraft apron parking facilities in
concert with the construction of the new Regional Terminal.
The plans were reviewed and approved with the new Regional Terminal plans by the
Architectural Review and the Planning Commission.
The aircraft concrete parking apron is a necessary component in the development and
completion of the new Regional Terminal which is designed to accommodate the new
and larger regional jets.

(Rehabilitate Commuter Apron)
The project will be 95% FAA Airport Improvement Grant Program funded. The
remaining 5% construction costs will be paid from the Airport's general revenues. The
projected costs have been budgeted for in FY 05/06.

APPROVE MINUTE ORDER NO. ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR PROJECT NO. 2005-11, REHABILITATION OF COMMUTER APRON AND
ENGINEER'S COST ESTIMATE OF $1,600,000, AND DIRECT STAFF TO PROCEED
WITH SOLICITATION OF BIDS.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that this Minute Order, adopting plans and specifications for Project
No. 2005-11, Rehabilitation of Commuter Apron and engineer's cost estimate of
$1,600,000, and direct staff to proceed with solicitation of bids was approved by the City
Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, in a meeting thereof held on the 29th day
of June, 2005.
