Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) receives federal grants under the Federal

STAFF ANALYSIS:
About one year ago, the Airport received the FAA AIP Grant 42 in the amount of

as developed and recommended proceeding with the environmental phase of the
program to satisfy the NEPA and CEQA requirements.
Although the Airport Commission has not yet met at the time of publication of the Council
agenda, they are scheduled to meet on July 21 to take up the recommendation. This
grant will fund the entire federal environmental portion (NEPA), and the airport will need
to fund the state required elements related to (CEQA). Once the grant is received, a
contract with HNTB Corporation will be brought to Council for approval and the project will
