Ready, City Manager BY: Office of the City Clerk I SUMMARY The City Council will accept the resignation of Jacci Tutunjian from the VillageFest Board. RECOMMENDATION: Accept with regret the resignation of Jacci Tutunjian from the VillageFest Board. STAFF ANALYSIS: On July 18, 2005, the City Clerk received a letter of resignation from VillageFest Boardmember Tutunjian. Government Code Section 54974 requires a Notice of Vacancy to be posted in the Office of the City Clerk and public library with the largest service population within its ,jurisdiction. Appointment to the Commission shall not be made by the City Council for at least 10 working days after the posting of the notice in the Office of the City Clerk. Palm Springs Municipal Code Section 2,04.060 requires the Notice shall be posted in three public places at lease ten days before appointment. I feel as though I am leaving the city that I love so much "out in the cold" at a very difficult time. But I know there will be a very dedicated person that will take my place and put their heart into our downtown event. We have lived in Palm Springs over 30 years. We have had 5 downtown businesses before moving to Smoke Tree. This is the city that we love and care for and I will always be here for you—even as an advisor if need be on questionable- Jewelry items or whatever you need me for. But right now my husband needs me, as he is not in the best of health I am looking forward to downtown Palm Springs flourishing again—we must ALL make it happen...our hope lies in this Mayor and City Council to make it happen.
