Ready, City Manager BY: James Thompson, City Clerk SUMMARY The City Council will receive and file the 2010 Local Agency Biennial Notice and direct staff to make amendments to the City's Conflict of Interest Code for adoption. RECOMMENDATION: 1. Receive and File the 2010 Local Agency Biennial Notice. 2. Direct staff to promulgate the necessary amendments and return to the City Council in December for adoption pursuant to the Political Reform Act. STAFF ANALYSIS: The Political Reform Act requires every local government agency to review its Conflict of Interest code biennially. On June 16, 2010, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 22725, directing staff to review the City's Conflict of Interest Code and file the requisite 2010 Biennial Notice prior to September 15, 2010. City staff reviewed the Conflict of Interest Code and noted areas that may require amendments, as noted on the 2010 Local Agency Biennial Notice. The City Council is the code reviewing body for the City. Therefore, staff is requesting the City Council receive and file the 2010 Local Agency Biennial Notice, and direct staff to make appropriate amendments for City Council adoption prior to December 30, 2010, as required by the Political Reform Act.
