BRAND/NAME SERIAL NUMBER MISC.DESCRIPTION VALL Supplemental Report At about 1600 on 9/21/05 I responded to back Officer C.J. Hilton on a reported burglary in progress at 3975 Dorado Road, The suspect vehicle, a red Jeep pick-up truck and the suspect were reported to be at that location. Upon arrival with Officer Rode, I contacted, among other people, a subject whom I knew to be Willie Holly The group of people also on the premises were church members alleging that Holland had stolen their sign off, side of their church building in West Garnet. They collectively pointed to the sign in the bed of the red R pick--up truck and identified it as the sign that was stolen. As each side continued to argue, the church people on one side and Holland on the other, I asked Holland if pick- up truck belonged to him. He said that it did. When I asked him what the sign was doing in the back of l truck, he told me that he took it, When I asked why he took it, he pulled out a large manila envelope with ci papers inside. He waived the papers at me and told me that it was his intent to serve the church with the papers a that Ire took the sign to do just that. When I asked him to explain why he needed to take their property to set them civil papers, Holland told me that lie thought it necessary to take the sign, then give it back and at the sai time, serve them with his civil papers. He repeated this theme throughout the interview. I their asked him about the burglary of the church and specifically about computer and office equipmei Holland bristled at this and said he resented being accused of the theft.. I told him that no one was accusing hint the theft, but it was contemporaneous to his taking the sign. He agreed that this fact was coincidental but st denied entering the church and taking the property. I then asked him if he would consent to a search of his hou and trunk of his car, which was parked in the front yard of this residence. He agreed to the searches a ne Officer Rode accompanied me into Holland's residence. I looked in all the rooms and spaces thathcou accomodate computers, but found nothing, as with the car trunk. During this entire contact, Holland was free to roam his yard and argue with the church inetnbers present. Who Holland decided to canvass the neighbors to solicit positive complements about himself, I limited his mov his own front yard. Officer Hilton, the investigating officer, was at the church property in. West ements victim.. She subsequently authorized me to take Holland into custody. I transported Holland to city Garnet with tl booking search. y jail and did tl liollarid had rio problem adm1 111.9 to trio anal the church members that lie took the sign and insisted that , to be used as a device to ser-c,c ci,il papers. t No h1rdler -,It, .niat10 . Church members alerted Pastor , (pastor for several years) of the Grace Apostolic Church that Willie HOLLAND was found to be in possession of a stolen sign from the church and he desired prosecution. g Officer Hilton was assisted on her investigation by Officer Beckert, Documented in their reports were observations of a theft from outside of the church and also a burglary of equipment from inside the church which both happened within the past day. Officer Beckert's and Officer Hilton's investigations documented statements that showed that HOLLAND knowingly possessed the sign that was stolen which he said he took. Based on the above officer's reports, I believe that HOLLAND knowingly possessed the sign (stolen property) which was removed without authorization by the church. Their investigation never identified a witness who saw HOLLAND actually take the sign.
