Ready, City Manager BY: Office of the City Clerk SUMMARY: The City Council will consider adoption of Ordinance No. 1671. RECOMMENDATION: Waive further reading and adopt Ordinance Ordinance No. 1671, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 12.56.042 OF THE PALM SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE (PSMC) ADDING TEN STREETS TO THE LIST OF STREETS WHERE COMMERCIAL VEHICLES EXCEEDING CERTAIN DESIGNATED WEIGHTS ARE PROHIBITED." STAFF ANALYSIS: At its September 21, 2005, meeting the City Council introduced on first reading the proposed ordinance. This report provides for the City Council to waive further reading and adopt the ordinance. The ordinance shall be effective 30-days from adoption. /dafiles Thompson David H. City Attorney's Summary The City of Palm Springs prohibits commercial vehicles from using certain specified streets. This ordinance adds ten streets to the list of streets where such commercial vehicles are prohibited. Section 12.56.042 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code be amended by adding the following table. The following streets are designated as streets where use is prohibited as to commercial vehicles . The City Clerk is authorized to add the above streets in sequential order following the streets previously designated by the Council and included in Section 12.56.042 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code. SECTION 3. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same, or the summary thereof, to be published and posted pursuant to the provisions of law and this Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after passage.
