SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR PRO TEMPORE

SUMMARY
Pursuant to City of Palm Springs Charter, the City Council shall designate one of its
members as Mayor Pro Tempore.
RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint a member of the Palm Springs City Council as Mayor Pro Tempore for the term
ending December, 2006.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
Pursuant to the City of Palm Springs City Charter Section 302, the City Council shall
designate one of its members as Mayor Pro Tempore, who shall serve in such capacity
at the pleasure of the City Council. The Mayor Pro Tempore shall perform the duties of
the Mayor during any period of the Mayor's absence or disability.
