SUBJECT: RATIFY AND APPOINT THE NOMINATION OF THE CITY OF COACHELLA
TO THE PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT COMMISSION FOR
THE TERM ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2012

SUMMARY:
The City Council will consider the appointment of the City of Coachella representative to
the Palm Springs International Airport Commission.
RECOMMENDATION:
Reappoint David Garcia, as the City of Coachella representative, to the Palm Springs
International Airport Commission for the term ending December 31, 2012.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
In November, 2007, the City Council amended the Palm Springs Municipal Code to provide
that each representative City nominate, and the Palm Springs City Council appoint the
representative member to the Palm Springs International Airport Commission.
The City has received notification from the City of Coachella of their nomination of
David Garcia, as the City of Coachella representative to the Commission, for the term
ending December 31, 2012.
ALTERNATIVES:
The City Council may choose to interview the candidate or other selection process prior to
the appointment; or take no action, and direct the City Clerk to notify the City of Coachella
to make a further nomination.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
