A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, IN SUPPORT OF
APPROVING SUBMISSION OF A CALTRANS BICYCLE
TRANSPORTATION ACCOUNT (BTA) GRANT
APPLICATION, NOTICE OF EXEMPTION, AND
ALLOCATION OF 10% OF THE PROJECT COST AS
MATCHING FUND. A6232
WHEREAS, the City of Palm Springs General Plan provides for the development
of a bikeway system in the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council duly adopted a Non Motorized Transportation Plan
on October 5, 2011 at a regular meeting of the City of Palm Springs City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palm Springs wishes to submit an application for the
Caltrans BTA grant application for 2012/2013, including the notice of determination and
required ten (10) percent matching fund requirement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of City of Palm
Springs authorizes the City Engineer and City Sustainability Manager to submit a
Caltrans BTA grant application 2012/2013 for two Class II proposed bike lanes on
Racquet Club and Avenida Caballeros, approves the Notice of Exemption, and allocates
the required ten (10%) percent matching funds in an amount not to exceed $50,000.00
from the City of Palm Springs Sustainability Fund.
