Ready, City Manager BY: City Manager— Convention Center "UMMARY This action would approve the use of excess Convention Center Operating Funds to fully fund the Kitchen Project and would rescind the previously approved deductive Change Order. RECOMMENDATION: 1. Adopt Minute Order No. , authorizing the use of excess 2005-06 Convention Center Operating Funds to fully fund the Kitchen project. 2. Adopt Minute Order No. , rescinding Deductive Change Order No.1 to City Project No. 02-27A, restoring the project to its original scope. STAFF ANALYSIS: On April 5, 2006 the City Council awarded the Convention Center Kitchen Project and approved a deductive change order to reduce the scope of the project to fit the budget. At the same time instructions were given to try and find the dollars necessary to fully fund the project. The Convention Center has had a good year and the excess operating funds it is producing can be utilized to fund this capital project. The two attached Minute Orders would authorize the use of the excess funds and would rescind the deductive change order. Item No, n .J . I, James Thompson, City Clerk of the City of Palm Springs, hereby certify that this Minute Order authorizing the use of excess Convention Center Operating Funds to fully fund the Kitchen Project, City Project 02-27A, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, in a meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of May, 2006. I, James Thompson, City Clerk of the City of Palm Springs, hereby certify that this Minute Order rescinding Deductive Change Order No.1 to City Project 02-27A, restoring the Convention Center Kitchen Project to its original scope, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California , in a meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of May, 2006.
