FROM: David H. Ready, City Manager BY: Palm Springs International Airport SUMMARY This action will serve as a report of an emergency repair expenditure authorized by the City Manager, related to the Security Access System at the Palm Springs International Airport. RECOMMENDATION: Ratify the emergency expenditure for the Airport's Security Access System to Systems Integration Corporation in the amount of$34,984.17. STAFF ANALYSIS The Airport's primary Security Access Control system encountered a loss of the primary computer servers. Working with the City's IT staff, the maintenance technicians from Systems Integration Corporation restored the system temporarily until the more permanent repairs were made. Disruptions in the airport's operations were avoided due to the immediate action taken. After these initial repairs were made, the contracted service provider Systems Integration Corporation proceeded to complete the ensuing permanent software, controller, and workstation upgrades and testing of all components to verify system reliability. This effort resulted in the total expenditure of $34,984.17 above the current annual service contract amount. rrEm No. 'Y.
