Tahquitz Canyon Way Palm Springs, CA 92262 To The Honorable Mayor, Ron Oden Dear Mayor Oden, My appearance at this council meeting is in regards to the "expected adoption of an ordinance today that will, crack down on illegal camping, panhandling and loitering in Palm Springs-" 1) Will this ordinance have a negative effect on the homeless people presently on the streets? 2) If there is a negative effect, will the City provide a shelter beforehand for the homeless people before the ordinance can be enforced? 3) What is the determined punishment for illegal camping, panhandling and loitering? 4) Will these three reasons be considered separate punishments so that a person can be punished for three separate offenses? 5) If these offenses are punishable, will these be considered misdemeanors? 6) What will happen if one person is arrested on three separate occasions, will one or the three offenses become a felony? These are but a few questions that come to mind. I am sure many persons have other questions. C y t1eDiG ' Incidentally and for your Information, the decision in "Jones v.
