Ready, City Manager BY: Public Works & Engineering / Facilities Maintenance SUMMARY: Continue current agreement for the rental of hot water boiler for the Airport until Chevron completes reconstruction of Municipal Plant. This will ensure that the Airports heating needs are met and we will be able to provide proper comfort controls to passengers and Staff. RECOMMENDATION: 1. Authorize purchase order for the boiler rental from Manley in an amount not to exceed $26,500.00; and 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the purchase order. STAFF ANALYSIS: Due to the anticipated scheduled shut down of the Municipal Cogeneration plant and past unscheduled interruptions in service, City Staff is seeking authorization from City Council to extend the rental agreement with Manley Boiler for an additional twelve (12) month period. The City received proposals in November 2012 from qualified providers of mechanical rental equipment and at that time Manley was low bidder. In December 2012 a hot water boiler was temporally installed and is providing the facility with hot water at this time. City Staff is seeking authorization from City Council to extend the current agreement with Manley Boiler for fiscal year 2013-14. ITEM NO.
