RE: New Permanent Holiday Lamp Post/Palm Tree Decorations
Dear Mayor Pougnet and City Council:
I am here today to propose to you an idea for new permanent holiday lamp post/palm tree decorations for the City of
Palm Springs.
Concept: Since Palm Springs is a mecca for mid-century modern architecture, both nationally and internationally, the
following proposal is an idea to increase the style and impression of the permanent holiday decorations to reflect said
image.
The proposal is:
Two different designs
One 8-pointed star @ 36" x 36"
One 6-painted retro snowflake @ 36" x 36"
Dimensional acrylic—frosted or clear
Interior illumination from LED bulbs that would be clear or multi-colored chasing bulbs of
clear/yellow/green/blue/red/purple
Tubular attachment from fixture to mounting bracket—PVC
Solar light pad mounted to post/tree
Area to be covered:
PS Visitor's Center down Palm Canyon to Sunrise
North on Sunrise to the end
East on Baristo from Sunrise to Airport
At the Airport
North on Indian Canyon to San Rafael
South at San Rafael to Palm Canyon
Cost:
The ENTIRE cost of the project would be covered by philanthropists, businesses, or a combination. This would be a GIFT
to the City.
Production:
It is POSSIBLE that some can be ready by the anticipated start date of 03 November 2014. The remainder to follow as
available.
