Ready, City Manager BY: Airport SUMMARY A report to City Council of an emergency repair expenditure of$54,171 for an aircraft loading bridge at the Airport RECOMMENDATION: Receive and File. STAFF ANALYSIS: On November 6, 2014, pursuant to section 7.04.040 (3) of the Municipal Code, to protect the safety of the traveling public at the Airport, the City Manager exercised his authority to approve the emergency repair of Aircraft Loading Bridge No. 10 at the Palm Springs International Airport in the amount of $54,171 with Riselo Engineering Solutions, Inc. Section 7.04.040 (4) requires that a written report of the circumstances for emergency purchases in excess of $25,000 be made to the Council at the next regularly scheduled meeting after the emergency procurement is made. Passenger Loading Bridge No. 10 at PSP Airport lost its ground power system — which planes must connect to when the engines are shut down. This auxiliary power allows for safe operation of the bridge and a comfortable environment for passengers who are deplaning and enplaning the aircraft. ITEM NO. This is the OEM for this passenger loading bridge.Finally we will connect all the cables and run all the electrical wiring under the bridge and up to the operators console inside the bridge.
