Ready, City Manager BY: AIRPORT SUMMARY This action will provide for the cooperative purchase of materials and installation services related to the replacement of public airport seating cushions. RECOMMENDATION: 1. Approve the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and labor to replace the bottom and back seat cushions on 528 public seats at the Airport from TotalPlan, Inc. of Riverside, CA under the US Communities cooperative purchase agreement in the amount of$96,839.67. 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. STAFF ANALYSIS: There are 528 seats within the Bono Concourse at Palm Springs International Airport. The units are about sixteen years old and still have the original bottom and back seat cushions. Due to the obvious wear on the seating, it is time to have all the cushions replaced. The seating at the Regional Concourse is not in need of this same treatment because the furniture was new in 2007. The project will be phased in accordance with the operational needs of the airport over the course of several weeks and will pose no impediment to the flight operations or passenger comfort. This refresh will complement the new carpeting that was installed two years ago. The Procurement & Contracting Manager worked with Airport Staff to secure the cooperative purchase quotation from TotalPlan, Inc. for the Hayworth seating ITEM NO. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7.01.030(8) of the Municipal Code authorizing the use of cooperative purchase agreements, staff is recommending award of this project to TotalPlan, Inc.
