RE: SunLine Transit Agency Bus Stop Improvement Program - Phase 6
Dear Mr. Ready,
SunLine Transit Agency (SunLine) is excited to share the upcoming Bus Stop
Improvement Program — Phase 6. The program will include the installation of
new amenities at various bus stop locations served by Lines 14, 24, 30, 32 and
111 within the City of Palm Springs.
SunLine currently has 131 bus stops located throughout the Palm Springs area.
The bus stops are cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. There are a total
of 89 existing bus stops with shelters, 35 bus stops with benches and waste
containers, and eighteen 18 bus stops with solar lights installed at remote
locations within the Palm Springs area.
As part of SunLine's past Bus Stop Improvement Program, twelve new bus
shelters were installed during Phase 5 of the improvement program.
In selecting bus stops for improvements in Phase 6, SunLine reviewed both stop
activity (passenger board ings/alightings) and the suitability of the built
environment at each location for accommodating improvements. Given these
factors, the following four bus stops in the City of Palm Springs have been
recommended for new bus shelters:

SunLine welcomes the City's input on the selected locations. With the completion
of the proposed improvements, 71 % of bus stops in the City of Palm Springs will
have improved shelters and lighting.
