FROM: David Ready, City Manager BY: Fire Department SUMMARY Staff recommends City Council approve the "Governing Body Resolution" designating the City's agents for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance provided by the Federal Department of Homeland via the State of California and the Riverside County Department of Emergency Management. RECOMMENDATION: 1) Approve the "Governing Body Resolution" to designate the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, and Fire Chief as signatory authority for Federal financial assistance provided by the Department of Homeland Security; and 2) Direct the City Clerk to certify and transmit to the Riverside County Department of Emergency Management. STAFF ANALYSIS: The California Office of Emergency Management (CaIOES) requires the "Governing Body Resolution" to be on file with the Riverside County Emergency Management Department in order to be eligible to receive funds associated with the Homeland Security grants. The Riverside County Emergency Management Department has indicated to all Cities that grant funds are currently available but will only be eligible to the applicants that provide the proper Resolution that has been passed by their respective City Council.
