HomeMy WebLinkAbout1/3/2018 - STAFF REPORTS - 00 3 January 2018 To: Palm Springs Mayor and City Council On Christmas I had a verbal altercation with my 99-year-old father which we later agreed to consider: ". . . water under the bridge." Attached to this letter you will find a candy cane. I use this as a symbol of the message of the season. The last City Council Meeting in December ended on several sour notes. This is a new year and I respectfully request we > > > Bury ALL the hatchets; Bury ALL the petty "This person voted this way . . . so I'll vote that way", Bury ALL the playground arguments about who will play what position. How about we all work out compromises to get the job done? Can we forget about "This is how I, personally, want it" and concentrate on "this is what our city needs"? When arriving at City Hall, always pass by the entrance to the Council Chambers, look up and read what is there: "THE PEOPLE ARE THE CITY" That should read: "ALL The People Are The City" I would like to leave you with one final thought. Always remember: All who govern, do so at the pleasure of, and for the benefit of, the electorate. Robert "Red" Findley ` Palm Springs, CA rfindley@twc.com 619-886-6737 m JMNSHO `
