1999 in Public Works & Engineering Department as an Associate Civil Engineer and
will officially move on to new ventures on May 31, 2012; as the Director of Public
Works for the City of Rialto; and
WHEREAS, Marcus was promoted to Senior Civil Engineer, in 2001, and finally
to Assistant City Engineer & Assistant Public Works Director, where he has been
since 2005; and
WHEREAS, Marcus has always been our "Go To" Guy, and the one who keeps
the Engineering & Public Works projects running — everything from major
interchanges, to overseeing the Wastewater Treatment Plant, to managing the Annual
Pavement Rehabilitation Projects and Traffic Signal Projects, as well as countless
other City, State and Federal projects; and
WHEREAS, due to Marcus' love of the study of raw sewage he has been
instrumental in the development of a Treatment Plant Capital Improvement Plan; and
WHEREAS, Marcus has shown his dedication to his career and self-
improvement by acquiring Masters in Public Administration as well as obtaining his
license to practice Land Surveying in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Marcus will soon follow his dreams in the rip-roaring City of Rialto
where he will follow in the footsteps of Dave Barakian, former Engineer for the City of
Rialto and Carrie Rovney, former Resident of Rialto; and
WHEREAS, Marcus will be greatly missed — most of all by Dave Barakian — and
all those who have worked with him, as well as all of us who have benefitted from his
expertise in just keeping things running smoothly.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Stephen P. Pougnet, Mayor of the City of Palm Springs,
California, by the power vested in me, do hereby want to thank MARCUS FULLER for
his years of dedication and a job well done, wish him a happy, healthy and exciting
career, and hereby proclaim May 16, 2012 to be:
