SID CRAIG, is a well-known and respected Hollywood talent agent that moved to Palm Springs in
2007 to enjoy the great weather and small town atmosphere and quickly become ingrained in
the fabric of our city as a much loved volunteer and Board member supporting a host of local
organizations, commissions and non-profits, including the Palm Springs International Film
Festival, the Coachella Valley Repertory, Annenberg Theatre Council, Melody Ranch, Palm
Springs High School Mentoring Program, the Mizell Senior Center, Palm Springs Police Advisory
Board, Human Rights Commission, and Parks and Recreation Commission,just to name a few!
Sid Craig's, more than 30 years of experience in entertainment-talent management including
films, television and stage has given him a special ability to work effectively among cross-
generational, ethnic, and vastly diverse socio-economic groups as well as all levels of
management.
Sid's tremendous dedication to the City of Palm Springs includes writing the Palm Springs
Citizens' Police Academy grant enabling 10 deaf students to attend the Academy's 13-week
program.
As a member of the Human Rights Commission, Sid Craig wrote a much celebrated brochure on
hate crimes in English and had it translated into Spanish to be distributed by the Police
Department throughout the community.
Sid was recently awarded with a much deserved special honor from the City of Palm Springs
Human Rights Commission for "Bringing Human Rights Closer to Home."
Sid volunteers countless hours of his time to our senior and LGBT community, the Palm Springs
Police Department, local students at Palm Springs High School and the City's many Boards and
Commissions. He has never missed a City Council meeting as far as we know.
Sid's enormous compassion and big heart is well known throughout Palm Springs and the entire
Coachella Valley; there is no better role model when it comes to practicing and promoting
tolerance and kindness.
Sid Craig, the City of Palm Springs'2016 Senior Inspiration Awards winner, is a true role model
and inspiration to so many in Palm Springs, not just seniors. He has never really retired and we
hope it stays that way.
As Mayor of the City of Palm Springs, I want to recognize Sidney Craig for his dedicated service
to our beautiful community and honor and thank him for all of his contributions.
