We would like to speak at Public Comment to introduce the Coachella Valley Cannabis Alliance Network (CVCAN) to the Council, staff and public. In attendance will be myself, Jocelyn Kane, Legislative Director, and Executive Board President Jason Elsasser. We are particularly interested in working with the Council Subcommittee regarding the formation of a Palm Springs Cannabis Advisory Council, under the umbrella of CVCAN. We have created these in Desert Hot Springs, and Coachella, and working with Cathedral City on same. Members of the Advisory Council will have licensed cannabis businesses in the City of Palm Springs, and can act as a sounding board, educational tool, or outreach body when items related to the cannabis industry are considered by the City. They only work well if the local municipality embraces the Advisory Council, and so we would like to introduce this concept to you, as well. Lastly, our CVCAN Industry Conference is taking place this Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7, 2018, in Desert Hot Springs. I sent invites to you all earlier in the year. If you are free to attend at all during the two days, please let me know and I will make sure you are registered. Best, Jocelyn Kane, Legislative Director CVCAN " Coachella Valley Cannabis Alliance Network" 14080 Palm Dr. Ste: A Desert Hot Springs CA. 92240 C: 415 407-5772 q1q (b JtiIG (Flit^ 2wl I1 P Cindy Berardi From: Anthony Mejia Sent: Wednesday, April 4, 2018 1:43 PM To: Cindy Berardi Subject: FW:AmDocs 2018 - Buzz Bus Attachments: PS_MAP_UPDATED-20MAR2018.pdf ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Teddy Grouya <tedLwamericandocfilmfest.com> Date: Wed, Mar 28, 2018 at 3:48 PM Subject: AmDocs 2018 - Buzz Bus To: David.ReadyLa,palmsprings-ca.gov Hello David, I hope you are well. I would very much like to request something that can benefit the City as well as our festival guests, both filmmakers and audience, who come to Palm Springs for the American Documentary Film Festival and Film Fund (AmDocs). As you may recall, AmDocs for this year is April 6-14. Many of our guests are staying at hotels and inns along the Buzz Bus route. It would be of great advantage as well as contribute to less carbon in the air, if we could encourage and give the option to our visitors to take the Buzz Bus during our City sponsored event. I realize that the service is being axed some time in June, but given our event's April date, this is a great opportunity to see it gain some activity before she is put to pasture. All that I propose during the week of AmDocs is that the route be slightly modified to include a drop-off somewhere near the Palm Springs Cultural Center(formerly the Camelot Theatres) on either the Baristo side or the Tahquitz side, where they can walk a few extra meters, and then the bus can head towards the convention center. I can tell you from my experiences at numerous festivals throughout the world, that city sponsored events like AmDocs offer free shuttle services to venues with the city providing everything from school buses to public transport. In this case, we have a perfect opportunity to utilize an already operating service with a slight modification to route that would tangibly benefit the community and visitors alike. Please reach out to me should you have any questions. Very much looking forward to working with you on this and hope to see you at Opening Night with George Takei.
