TO: Steve Pougnet, Mayor
Council members: Weigel, Mills, Idutcheson, Foai
Board of Advisors David Ready, City Manager
David Carden Jr. RE: Plaza Racquet Club sub-lease
Chair
Dean Conkle On behalf of the Baristo Neighborhood Organization we ask that the council
Vice-Chair approve the sub-lease agreement for the Plaza Racquet Chub which will allow them
to continue to operate their public tennis club facilities and expand their partnership
Gayle Wilson with the Parks and Recreation Department.
Treasurer
Dan Shenefelt The Plaza Racquet Club has been a tremendous asset to our neighborhood and
Secretary many of our residents are members of the club. In addition, the 14aggstrom's
impeccably maintain the property and have been great neighbors.
Claudia Rossi
At-large It is essential that the club is given a lease agreement which benefits not only the
William Squire club but the city as well. We feel that the sub-lease agreement outlined in an article
At•Iarge in the Desert Sun (11/15/09) is fair and equitable.
George Zander We also want to extend our appreciation for the efforts of David Ready and council
At-large
member Mills for their involvement in keeping this issue moving forward with the
April Hildner Palm Springs Unified School District and Kurt and Ana Haggstrom.
ONI AIIernate
Thank you for your support of this very important issue. This new agreement will
Mark Davis benefit everyone involved and the termis facility can continue to offer services for
HOA Liaison
residents, tourists and guests as well as provide new access through Parks and
Recreation.
This is truly a win-win for everyone!
Regards,
David Carden
