WHEREAS, the Variance Board, at their meeting of November 13, 1964,
recommended denial of request by Texaco, Inc. , for two 28.28 sq. ft. t
banjo signs at two service stations located on Palm Canyon Drive,
since the present Sign Ordinance permits only one 20-foot sq. ft.
sign for each service station; and
WHEREAS, at the time the Variance Board considered this variance
request, discussion was held regarding a possible amendment to
the Sign Ordinance to permit a larger banjo sign in lieu of all
other signs located on the site; and
WHEREAS, Texaco has requested that denial of their variance be
held in abeyance, pending a recommendation regarding said Sing
Ordinance amendment;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that denial of Sign Variance by
Texaco, Inc. , Case 8. 164, shall be held in abeyance pending a recom-
mendation for increasing the maximum size of banjo signs.
