HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/7/2001 - STAFF REPORTS (11) DATE: November 7, 2001 TO: City Council FROM: Interim Director of Aviation RATIFICATION OF CLOSED SESSION ACTION -AIRPORT SECURITY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that City Council ratify its Closed Session action of October 17, 2001, related to increasing Airport Security at a one-time cost of $51,052, with ongoing costs of$10,444 annually. SUMMARY: This action would ratify a previous Closed Session action. BACKGROUND: In response to the "9-11" attacks, the Police Chief and Interim Director of Aviation sought City Council approval for increased security measures which had a one-time cost of$51,052,with ongoing costs of$10,444 annually. The Council, on October 17, 2001, unanimously approved the request in Closed Session. The attached Minute Order would ratify that action. ALLEN F. I HEREBY CERTIFY that this Minute Order, ratifying the City Council Closed Session approval on October 17,2001, related to increased security measures at the Airport for a one-time cost of$51,042 and annual costs of$10,444, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, in a meeting thereof held on the 71h day of November 2001.
