APPROVE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TOAGREEMENT FOR PREPARATION OF SUMMARY REPORT
OF AIR QUALITY TECHNICAL STUDIES RELATED TO THE PROPOSED OCOTILLO ENERGY
PROJECT
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve Amendment No. 1 to Agreement 4400 between
the City and The Keith Companies Inc.for Preparation of Summary Report of Air Quality Technical
Studies Related to the Proposed Ocotillo Energy Project the scope of work and increasing the total
compensation to $4500.
SUMMARY:
This amendment will provide the compensation necessary for the Contractor to present their
findings related to health impacts of the proposed Ocotillo Energy Project to the City Council at it's
September 19 meeting.
BACKGROUND:
In order to provide resources necessary for the timely evaluation of health-related concerns
necessary in conjunction with the proposed Ocotillo Energy Project the City Manager approved a
contract services agreement in the amount of$3500 with The Keith Companies Inc.
The necessity of moving the consultant's presentation to the September 19 agenda resulted in
additional expense to the consultant. The $1000 increase to the total compensation will provide
the funding necessary for the presentation to be made at the September 19 meeting.
Funds are available forthis purpose in account number261-2493-51520, Parks Improvement, City
Hall Parking Lot Account.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO AGREEMENT NO. 4400, PREPARATION OF SUMMARY REPORT OF
AIR QUALITY TECHNICAL STUDIES RELATED
TO THE PROPOSED OCOTILLO ENERGY PROJECT
This First Amendment to Agreement No.4400 forcontract services(herein"Agreement")made and
entered into on the day of September,2001, by and between the CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
(herein "City") and The Keith Companies Lambert, Inc. (herein "Contractor") is hereby effective as
follows:
Section 2.1 Contract Sum is hereby amended to include an additional $1000. Revised not to
exceed amount is $4500.
Exhibit "A" Scope of Services, is hereby amended to include the as following:
Presentation of Findings: The Contractor and any necessary sub-consultants shall attend
the evening meeting of the Palm Springs City Council on September 19, 2001.
Exhibit "B" is hereby amended to include compensation for Council meeting attendance on
September 19 of$1000. Revised Total Compensation is $4500.
All other terms and conditions of the agreement shall remain in full force and effect.

the City and McDaniel Lambert Inc. for Assessing Health Impacts from the Proposed Ocotillo
Energy Project revising the scope of work and increasing the total compensation to $6199.
