Driving back into downtown Palm Springs, on 111 from the freeway,we had to shake ourselves to understand what we
were seeing. It could have been downtown Bagdhad. This place looks like a war zonal Complete with 8 ear-splitting
military jets taking off that day. Does that make us feel safe,with military aircraft strafing our pools, and sharing an
international commercial airport in a tourist town of 45,000 people?! NO.We're told it is to accomodate a refueling
contract. Once again our beautiful town gets assaulted by private interest profits over the residents' health and
safety.
Everywhere we look, our fabulous home and its unique history is being purposely blighted and bulldozed into
"Anywhere, USA", by big out-of-town developers-with the paid-off collusion of our public officials. Rather than showcase
our treasured history, you destroy it!
The bull-dozed Palm Springs sign was the last straw_
The clean air we moved here for finally seems to be gone for good. We know we've been in overdraft for many years,
and that water quality is threatened by pesticides going into our aquifer. Three golf courses use 1 BILLION gallons of water
per year. How many do we have in the valley?Over 150. That's 50 billion gallons per year. Do we really need any more?
And yet, as we enter yet another year of drought, Council still believes the liars at DWA,that we have plenty, and they
can't wait to see the fake take and course built in one of the only Bighorn sheep habitats left on Earth-and where they
can destroy several delicate ecosystems at once. Thank heavens for Save Our Mountains,the Sierra Club, The Friends of
the Palm Springs Mountains, and the citizens who support them. But its a damn crying shame that we have to sue,to
get our representatives to represent us!We are condemned to another crappy summer of gathering signatures on
referenda, and initiatives,to stop you from further disastrous decisions_ Out of 201 projects last year, there were 102

when mass-grading, ignore dangerous land destabilization warnings from FEMA, have no green building mandates, and
you waive the CEQA and AQMD regulations regularly_You ignore, and don't answer, challenges to biased EIRs_ Unlike
the approval of the employee signed form-letters of support, for the killer windmills

This Planning Commission and the City Council are responsible. We should say, IRRESPONSIBLE. Reams of
data about the killer windmills, sent to Council and the Board of Stupidvisors,are being ignored. No one wants to
jeopardize the campaign conbibutions from Fred Noble(and the M1^ega-Developer-M2fia)to every candidate out there,
from his prospective$65 million in subsidies. That same amount, if applied to solar, would service just as many homes
and not min the landscape and wildlife (we consider eurselv-es as local wildlife)as far as the eye can see--v-ery_land-
intensive.And what are heavy industrial projects doing in residential areas, anyway?
But, several officials in DHS refused the blood money, and they still won. You could follow their lead and pass a
resolution to remove PS from [he coun[v's overlay zone, if you have an iota or care about global warming, the depletion of
oue reso: ces, and cu-health and safe,, you can do this.
These ungreen, unclean windmill fields, is where they kill and bury injured birds to avoid reporting them.That is illegal.
Yet corrupt public officials ignore the evidence, believe the liars, and refuse to conduct studies BEFORE they are
installed. The fire danger is very real. And so is the early appearance of West Nile Virus, and the increasing incidence of
every airborne respitory disease, including Valley Fever. Killer windmills indeed.
You are not planning for our health and safety, you are planning for the influx of money from the energy manipulation by
Edison and this ex-Enron, military-industrial complex, boondoggle by the windmill operators. The biggest polluters on-the
planet.You do nothing while these thieves rape.the public with net-metering scams to kill the solar infant in its crib-after
a 15 to 20-year gestation period. It's a double-barrel shotgun aimed at our hearts- literally.The nanoparticles we can't
help but breathe every day, go into our systems and never come out. It WILL kill us.
The huge costs in health, pollution, and the depletion of resources to manufacture, install and maintain these
monstrosities, will NEVER, ever, be offset by these dangerous and inefficient evesores.Yet, you will not mandate

Speaking nicely, and trying to enlighten you for over 4 years, is not working. One step forward, and 4 steps back, is
